scatto dell'estate scorsa ri-elaborato. Faro di Punta Palascìa (meglio noto come Capo d'Otranto). E' il punto più orientale d'Italia e segna l'incontro tra il Mar Ionio ed il Mar Adriatico. Sono andato lì con l'intento di riprendere il faro al tramonto ma, giunto sul posto, sono rimasto colpito dalla "montagna" di nuvole bianche nel cielo. Nel giro di circa un minuto (sottolineo un solo minuto) ho visto questo enorme cumulo di nuvole venire molto velocemente verso di me. Man mano che si avvicinavano il vento diveniva sempre più forte tanto da costringermi ad imbracciare la fotocamera e tener fermo, con una mano, il cavalletto. Su tutta la porzione di mare coperta dall'ombra di questo enorme banco di nuvole, l'acqua appariva increspata. Dopo essere passate sopra la mia testa, le nuvole hanno iniziato a sgretolarsi. E' stato uno spettacolo magnifico ed anche un pò inquietante ad essere sinceri. Spero che questo scatto renda almeno vagamente le sensazioni provate.

ITA: Ho deciso il titolo di questa foto mentre cercavo l'angolo giusto per scattarla... L'albero secco, l'acqua che potrebbe arrivare, il cespuglio verde, la vita o la morte, nel deserto, hanno un confine sottilissimo... ENG : Observing this scene while I was searching the right point of view to take my photo, the idea of "life or death" came to my mind immediately. The arid ground, the shrubs that stubbornly were trying to grasping the few life juices from the earth and the water-promising clouds on the far distance, while a dead tree was standing there, as a warning about the risks of growing too much in the a desert land. This is the hard survival in the extreme lands.

Il sorriso di un piccolo uomo

Nottata pazzesca al Kirkjufell, un'ora abbondante di luce che volteggiava su tutta la penisola, non se ne voleva andare. E pensare che ero semi addormentato nella hall dell'hotel per le fatiche fotografiche giornaliere, ad un tratto una voce "northern light" annunciava l'inizio dello spettacolo. A volte il lato "b" funziona, e ci voleva.

The sun rays behind some red clouds, in a dramatic color explosion, over the white cliffs of Etretat, in Upper Normandy. Coming back from the shooting of a golden sunset scene over the small town the sky gifted us this stunning show.
