Ho una Nikon Coolpix s8100, presa, perchè cercavo una compatta non costosa e facile da portare, che fa buone foto. Ha l'unico difetto che non rende possibile settare il bilanciamento del bianco. Per cui c'è il problema la sera, in caso di luci forti. L'unica possibilità è ridurre l'esposizione. Cosa ne pensate?

White Balance (Adjusting Hue)
The color of light reflected from an object varies with the color of the light source.
The human brain is able to adapt to changes in the color of the light source, with
the result that white objects appear white whether seen in the shade, direct
sunlight, or under incandescent lighting. Digital cameras can mimic this
adjustment by processing images according to the color of the light source. This is
known as “white balance.” For natural colors, choose a white balance setting that
matches the light source before shooting. Although the default setting, Auto, can
be used under most types of lighting, the white balance setting suited to a
particular light source can be specified manually to achieve more accurate results.
The icon for the current setting is displayed in the monitor (A6). However, when
Auto is selected, no icon is displayed.

Non capisco la correlazione che fate tra il bilanciamento del bianco e la corretta esposizione, da quello che ne so io il bilanciamento del bianco riguarda piùttosto la corretta riproduzione cromtica nello scatto della scena inquadrata ed evita per esempio le dominanze di determinate cromie, l'esposizione riguarda la corretta luminosità dello scatto rispetto alla scala di grigi ad 8 bit che va dal bianco al nero.
Si possono realizzare scatti correttamente esposti ma che hanno un'errata impostazione del bilanciamento del bianco la quale comporta negli scatti dominanti cromatiche errate e/o alterazione dei colori nei particolari
Tutte le compatte della fascia S (Style) e della fascia L (Light) mettono a disposizione per una corretta esposizione la compensazione dell'esposizione appunto, per il White Balance invece solitamente lasciandolo impostato su Auto si ottengono comunque ottimi risultati.
Per esperienza ho provato anche a settare il WB ma chi ci azzecca quasi sempre è l'impostazione Auto, e comunque per quanto riguarda il White Balance è sempre possibile correggere in postproduzione con un programma di fotoritocco
