Living Matter Mi piace

This work is the result of a project on double exposure directly in the Digital Camera. All photos were taken in Dresden, Germany between 2021 and early 2022. Each photo is the result of two shots. A first photo always portrays a statue (or a detail of it) and a second is a photo of natural elements placed near it. Many of the statues portrayed are sculptures without author or name, located in cemeteries or in public parks, worn out by time and neglect. Yet they have been there, some of them for many years and they express an incredible strength. I was enchanted by their expressiveness and I wanted to represent them with something alive. The earth, the water, the flowers, the trees have given them even more strength, reviving them in a new light. The figure of the human emerges in these portraits, strong, desperate, sad, afflicted, tired, but always and in any case, living matter.
