Pina Chiarandà was born in Sicily. She studied art and philosophy at Milan.
Chiarandà began shooting focusing on architecture, reportage and portraits.
She always try to think about the most interesting part of a building: what was the architect thinking as he created this? how did he see the lighting ?
Black-and-white photographs are what fascinate her most. Without color information the message becomes even more direct.
To be a good photographer is to be a good storyteller. You will not be present to explain your photographs every time someone looks at them. The pictures themselves must tell the story.
